I wish some owners would advise what they have done to survive first few months.
Like they have Clearinghouse to report mandatory, drivers should start building their driving history while driving for someone else. The system is crooked. They want new owners operators pay for expensive insurance when most don’t take on new authority drivers. So, you have to pay practically thousands for a few months for your truck and trailer being parked most of the time.
I believe I have to find direct shippers and talk to them. I don’t see other options except for sitting around. -
This is a 200 mile radius. There are over 900 loads listed. I have no idea how many are listed multiple times, but there still has to be a few hundred. You should have no problems loading a Reefer right now.
Dino soar, Coffey and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
We have a load for tomorrow. That is why we can’t book long distances. We can’t be at both places at the same time.
Today, we can only be local. We are from Chicago. -
Convoy,Uber,TQL,Ch Robinson will load you. Convoy shows 58 loads, Uber shows 95 loads around Chicago.
Dino soar, Blackhorse77 and Coffey Thank this. -

It really seems yall are struggling with the concept of this new business venture. This month I'm paying for my Plates , renewing insurance and Hvut Tax . On top of regular maintenance I also dropped another 1500 on a new trailer lease . I had a lot of the same feelings yall are having but after the first couple months things leveled out and after the first year it was ok . Keep that truck moving , learn the lanes and dont panic . Goodluck
