New Bluetooth Headset?

This past Saturday (23 March), I finally purchased one of the space cadet headsets (over-the-head with a boom mic).

I got a RoadKing RK400 from Love's. The thing that drew my attention to it, as opposed to some of the other brands, is the charging port. The RK400 uses a micro-usb port for charging purposes. That works out GREAT as my MP3 player and, what was at the time, my current Bluetooth, uses a micro-usb charger. Therefore, there was no need for additional clutter or cords handing all over the truck.

Thus far, I have been pretty happy with it. Initial test calls to my voicemail sounded pretty good and subsequent calls to and from other people have gone very well. From my wife to fellow drivers to businesses, no one has complained about background noise, even while driving with the driver's side window rolled down.

My previous Bluetooth was a Plantronics Voyager Pro and it had gotten to the point that I needed to charge it up after every conversation. When I first purchased the RK400, I charged it up and today was the first time I had to put it on the charger. For me, that has been another plus for it. I realize over time, the battery will begin to loose its charge but for now, I will enjoy only having to charge it once per week.

Love's has a 30 day return policy, so if I don't like it, I can return it, but as of now, I don't see myself returning this headset within that 30 day timeframe.

I'm returning mine. Piece of crap is not recognized by my two phones. Can't pair. Never going hands free now. Screw it!!!

Loves let me try on the Jabra Supreme before I bought it. It's comfortable enough. The noise cancelling is amazing. Tons of volume. $99.

That post was made in the last day of March, 2013 and mine is still going strong. Have not had any problems pairing with anything, including a cheap bluetooth usb dongle for my laptop. The battery doesn't last quite as long. I have to recharge it every other day, but I'm still happy with mine.

I've never been too keen on those blue parrot headsets. They look about as ridiculous as this.

I'm kind of partial to my Plantronics Voyager Legend. Perfect audio quality and I don't look like a retard when I'm wearing it and walking down the street
