Starting pay is .40/mile. However, a couple of the runs I had have a minimum pay per load of $125.00.

I am in my 1st week of training currently with McElroy here in Cuba.
All i have to do is get through this week, go home for the weekend, meet up with my trainer sunday, and go out with him for 4 wks!
Cant wait!
From all of the drivers that i have talked to so far, i havent heard a single one of them say anything negative about working for McElroy! Everyone of them have been easy to talk to, joking with one another and will answer any questions you might have.
The instructors here at the cuba terminal have all been really helpful, laid back, knowledgeable of the training, and WANT you to succeed!
I think i made a great choice choosing McElroy straight out of driving school. I attended TDI in Oxford, AL back in April '12.
Maybe we will run in to each other!
Drive safe and happy motoring! -

Blue_Knight,
Can you give me some info on the trucks? I know they say they run ProStars. But how are they equipped? APU's? Bunk Heaters? If not how are they about idling? Do they allow inverters? Fridge, Microwave, etc.? What is the average age of trucks? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. -
Blue_Knight I know you've not been solo very long, but how much are you taking home weekly if you don't mind me asking? Thanks

Saw a brand new Prostar today with the Mcelroy logo today on 285. empty trailer... The truck was running 70 + mph so must not have governor. The sleeper is huge but is a mid roof.

They do not have APU's. They do have bunk heaters. They will not idle longer than 10 minutes between 25-65 degrees (there is no idle policy). No hardwired inverters are allowed-only the plug in kind are allowed. They do not have refridgerators, but most drivers use the plug in coolers. Anything that can be run on 12 volts or with a plug-in inverter is allowed.
If you have any more questions just ask.

Today I had my first scheduling problem. I am running legal and this caused the problem. I started at 6AM. I made my appointment time in Charlotte but was delayed unloading and didn't out until after lunch. Then I given a load from Chester SC to Baltimore with a delivery time between 7:00-2:45 Friday. I waited at the shipper and didn't get loaded until 7:30 PM. Since I only had 30 minutes left I stopped in Rock Hill SC. There is no way I can make my appointment on Friday. Until this load I have made every appointment on time.
