Hello to all you wonderful truckers.
I was laid off from my corporate job of 10 years about 1 & 1/2 years ago and haven't been able to find anything since. My dear trucker hubby suggested that I learn to drive and I'm finding out about it. Any advice and suggestions on studying or schools will be very much appreciated (I'm in California).
Thank you!
New career

Welcome to the forum...If u want to learn about life on the road and if its for u you've come to the right place.Every question you can imagine from new drivers has already been asked take a little time to read the forums. Schools?Lets see I went to 5 Rivers trucking school in Fresno Ca i only paid 1500 bucks for it and it took me 3 weeks to get it. Better than the 3000 bucks from all the rest wanted me to pay.

Hello and welcome!
Are you thinking about team driving with your hubby?
My 2c worth would be to suggest riding along for a few weeks, if you havent already, and see how you get along 24/7 in an 18 wheeler tin box that is not much bigger than the average bathroom : )
Its not for everyone.
There are a lot of lady drivers and/or truckers wives right here in the Ladies Room, so head over there and get yapping! -
If my memory still works Its my 3rd career

Thanks for everyone replying. I've just got back from spending 3 weeks in the truck with my hubby (and poodle). It went rather well - only uncomfortable part was noticible muscle atrophy when I finally got home and I felt like everything was still shaking for 4 days afterward!
