It would be his phone that needs to accept more then one. One from the head unit and one from the headset. If you're connecting your headset to your head unit you're doing something wrong.

Just saying, the radios don't accept more then one connection. Even though they're supposed to be able to handle 6 connections.

Delphi radio in cascadia is junk.
Our 2016 came with the users manual that says it is using Bluetooth 2.0...circa 2004 version. Bluetooth is currently up to version 4.3 & 5.0 is on the doorstep, with most modern phones using at least 4.0.

More cost cutting that is unnecessary & essentially harmful to the end user by way of ancient technology & impaired functionality.

I never once had the problems with hooking up to Alpine & Pioneer headunits via Bluetooth that I do now with this Delphi junk.

Power switch trick works for me every time.

You are correct sir. Under Settings-Bluetooth-whatever paired device it is set to remember-gear icon next to said device; use for "Phone Audio, Media Audio, & Contact Sharing, with a respective check mark next to each)" for the Delphi radio.

Similarly we have only "Phone Audio, & Contact Sharing" for my older Blueparrot BT250-XT Bluetooth as an example & the same three as the radio on my better half's Blue tiger Elite as it recognizes the difference between music & phone & can switch between the two when getting or making a call, if you use it for listening to music like they advertise it to be for.

Because of the ancient protocols & interface of the Delphi, if you only select Media Audio on your Delphi Bluetooth connection, it will only connect to the phone when the radio is in Media mode not phone mode; this is exacerbated by the fact it defaults to phone mode every time you turn off ignition & will not even allow you to select Media mode on radio without a Bluetooth device capable of using Media Audio is connected to it to begin with.

It will usually work until you turn ignition or power radio off by holding power key but then of course will not even see your phone until you re enable Phone Audio as well.
Regularly it will just refuse to connect to either my Android or my lady's iPhone & we have to manually re-pair connection, or even delete device in each others memory & do a fresh initial pair.
Also has random fail pairings where it would say connected until you switched to media mode, then would disconnect & re-pair ad-hominem.

On our former 2016 Prostar radio, whatever brand/model it was, this was not an issue as it would stay in the mode you left it on shutdown & would reconnect to phone as Media Audio only without a problem allowing your Bluetooth to freely connect to phone as normal.

No firmware updates I can find from manufacturer, nor any option to boot in Media Audio from the start or better, disable phone functionality altogether.

I've had Delphi radios in a 2014 and 2016 Prostar and a 2015 KW T680. They seem to be the standard go to but that being said that doesn't mean that they're using the same model. The KW had XM radio were my prostars don't and didn't. (Not that I care just a difference.)

Biggest issue I've had with the radio is the fact that if you forget to turn it back to Aux before shutting off the truck you normally get blastated by weather static. (Some times FM1 or AM)

I think the easiest solution for this problem might just be use a different device for pairing to the truck. But that can be more expensive.

Hmm now that I'm thinking about it siri stopped working when I switched from the 2014 to the 2016. I'll need to do more testing on this.

One of the biggest issues with truck radios is the fact that they have to go though so much testing. A OEM car radio is normally behind the time because they put it though a bunch of testing to make sure it won't break down right away. (You know wait till the warrent is gone at least.) A truck radio likely is even longer since it takes a lot more abuse due to the miles a truck runs. That and fact that truck manufactures don't seem to care to evolve. A 2016 prostar don't look different then a 2007 prostar. (Even if the claim all the changes they made on the Prostar+ they released.)

Companies have the option of disabling the B/T for music and keeping the B/T phone function. The trucks at my company came with music/phone B/T and then the music function was disabled.

You gotta hold down the (SEEK) button and select the option B/T Music. That easy.... Peace

So let me see if I understand you correctly...You use the 3.5mm jack to listen to music from your favorite phone music app via the stereo? And then you just pair your headphones for phone calls to your phone via bluetooth?

After you pair, hold down the seek button. The display will change to BT music, and will now play media from your connected device.

They do take more than one connection. One for each preset button. Hold a button down, until it says pair, hit the volume button and it goes into pairing mode. Do it for 6 different devices.
