You definitely made the right choice doing them all. There could be hairline cracks in the remaining teeth, which would eventually spall and come apart.
Looks like you have SIS access? Take a read through Cat's Reuse & Salvage guidlines. Those gears would definitely fail their criteria. However, some of the stuff they'll allow during a rebuild would boggle your mind.

When to use injector height tool? Only when replacing injector? Cat says to set injector to zero lash and then turn adjuster 180 degrees and lock it. No mention of height tool for rocker shaft reassemble and overhead adjustment. Still waiting on parts but just asking ahead of time.
Thanks -
Rest of my parts came in last night. So most of the morning was spent pushing setting up everything. HAd to push bushings/bearings into new idlers, put bearings on new accesorie drive gear, heat the crank gear and cam gear to slide into their prospective places. Then by afternoon, i got it all back together. NEw idlers, new cam gear, new crank gear, new accesorie drive gear. Also have new air compressor gear but peterbilt told me that cat will take almost a month to get me a new compressor under warranty. So ill have to wait. Tomorrow, ill install the rocker shafts and adjust valves and injectors as well as jake brakes and lash settings. If i have time, ill get front cover on and start it. but im in no rush. Again, thanks for the help in this matter.ill follow up as i go along
