New CB`er knows nothing . HELP

Well it has to be in the antenna system.

 

Stupid question not meant to insult ones intelligence but is the rf gain knob all the way clockwise and the squelch knob all the way counter clockwise?

 

Is the antenna mount factory installed in the mirror housing and the piece that you screw the antenna into is at the top, or did he install a different antenna mount onto the metal mirror arm with coax run to it ?

 

Some might be insulted by such a basic question that even with limited knowledge about radios that everyone should know well enough how to adjust the knobs on a cb.

 

The reason I am asking about the antenna mount ( factory or not ) is because if he installed a separate one and the receive is not working I would hookup to the factory mount and see if it works better.
