New CB's are crap...

Are corporations greedy? Of course, it is the very nature of the system where the cheapest product with the best branding generally sells.

What you left out is all the stuff gubermint regulators push with owning a company & having employees here. Think about, how can we import something CHEAPER than what it costs to make here? It is not just the cheap labor in China, it is all the other stuff that goes with it. The cheap labor alone would NOT offset the cost to ship across the pond.

Use to think the media would pose some sort of question about this, but they have their agenda & it seems the American public doesn't much care.

 

Channel 5 CB shop in W. Memphis has been advertising Wilson 2000 and RK56 mics for $29.99 the last couple of weeks. There is no way either of these products are of the same quality that made them famous. Like you, I would have recommend either one of them just a few years ago because I own several of each and like them. Today, I'm not sure I can give that recommendation.

 

You can not go wrong with a properly tuned Wilson 5000. Yes spend the extra money and get the 5000. You can thank me later.

 

Wilson 1000, 2000, 5000 are about the same. The 5000 will take a little more wattage, but I had one and couldn't tell any difference between it and my 1000 as far as performance goes. The Wilson antennas are not made by Wilson anymore. Barjan bought them out I believe.

 

Yep, America is greedy so we are paying for their money hungry ###'s, and it's not the illegal immigrants, they come to work for there money unlike those freeway Americans with the cardboard signs asking for a free dollar. Quick thought.... America IS Greedy.... But YOU are America. Are YOU willing to pay what it would cost to produce the CB, or mic, or antenna, here in the States? How many are willing to take a cut in pay to reduce prices of American produced products?

It's NOT just the corporations... Yup they are greedy, BUT, everybody today, from the guy flippin burgers in Mickey D's to the stock boy in Walmart thinks they should be making the same thing as a brain surgeon... Drives the price of the American made products way up.

How many of you go out of our way to buy American when you can, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO PAY MORE?

 

Me, and if I was wealthy and successful like cobra and all the other companies that got cheap, there definitely wouldn't be any need to go sucky.

Taxes and regulations have done a lot to increase the price of things. Move over seas and you can avoid that. Business 101: you have to sell for a profit......
