Making cheap knockoffs, not making deadlines and taking money without delivering the product. Doing business overseas has lots of perils. But... it's still cheaper to make it there. Go figure.

I don't think CB's are crap, the systems they have to broadcast through are crap. Have you seen all the "splitters" and cheap coax they use in today's trucks? I don't think the antennas actually run in tandem on many trucks (if you're using the factory setup) Makes ABSOLUTELY no sense to cheap out on CB radio coax and factory wiring to save $4.00 on a $155,000.00 truck

I agree antenna and good coax is the most important part of the setup and stock coax is garbage.

My experience is that the new Radios, like Cobras, are crap. Check out the "Good Old Radios" Thread in the CB Forum.

Well, it will get across the parking lot and the median, for sure, but it seems to do well up to 10 miles down the road also. Not always, of course, due to atmospheric conditions and terrain, but it seems to do pretty good overall for a stock setup. I hear everything I need to hear and get out just fine unless someone walks on me with their mega box close by me. I have avoided a lot of traffic messes with it in time to hit a good alternative route. I have a lot of things to do better with my money than trying to talk to Moscow. And for a stock setup, the coax FL put in my glider and the pre tuned FL branded antennas and the Galaxy radio does a pretty good job. I was firmly convinced in the past that it would be barely something I could live with, but in this truck, I had those ideas shot down. Put a Radio Shack meter to it when I got the truck and it came in about as good as anyone could tune it. Hooked the meter up recently to check things again. Still a 1.2 across the board. Can't speak to any other FL setup, like a Cascadia, but the Columbia glider truck I got, they sure got it done well.
