Certainly. That's common sense. Keep in mind that I tend to over write a scenario for effect on these forums. There has been plenty of rain events at 70 no problem loaded. With the exception of the I-10 west of Jaxville Florida where hydroplaning is a real concern in those ruts. And I generally get over conservative in winter ice. I'll get it there usually when others cannot because I don't know any better.
With that said, I was once presented with a doomsday scenario on 70 west past St Charles one summer back in 97, come up over a rise and noticed that it had hailed for about a mile ahead covering the entire interstate. There went I right onto that nice wet ice at 70 plus. One of my old ghosts spoke and said hold your #### steers straight and touch nothing. Sailed right through. But wont be doing that again.

In seriousness though, as far as the O/P goes, I drove commercially on Lexapro and my DOT doctor had no problem signing off on me. Unfortunately, the Lexapro did not do squat for me. But yes, those benzos are a bad idea even if you are NOT driving commercial vehicles as they are highly addictive. Was given an I.V. of Ativan in the hospital one time because I was sick with the flu/temperature/etc, etc..was anxious being in the hospital but man, Ativan made that just all go away. Rest of the night, I was floating on Cloud Nine. Not good if you are truck driving though.
Lastly I would tell the O/P to keep on trying to truck. Anxiety sucks, but do not listen to the ones that say "you have anxiety!? Welp, you shouldn't be truckin' then!". Just keep at it. Half the battle is, as cliche as it sounds, that positive self talk and CBT skills. Best of luck.. -
go get a new dot physical with the drug not in your system... dont mention the med since you dont take it any more... and avoid hair tests for the next 3-4 months ... hair tests only go back 90 or so days so after that you are to keep your mouth shut and never mention such med or taking again so long as you live lol ... you can figure out the length of time the med will be in your system by looking it up on the medicines website there should be a thing on there that tells you how long till so many grams are out of the body... Dont Lie but you dont have to confess either

Along the same lines, I had a medication issue a couple of weeks ago.
I had a bad abscessed tooth. I went to the dentist, and even though I was in quite a bit of pain, I refused a pain med prescription. The main reason was I knew I still needed to drive.
Now it did cross my mind to take the pain meds and just stay out of the truck for a few days but I figured I'd be safe and just suffer through. This begs the question, if I had taken the pain meds and not drive while on them, I could still be called for a random during that period. What would have happened then?
I guess what I'm saying is there are legitimate reasons for a person to be on a controlled substance for injury or whatnot. Surely there is a way do take these meds and be legal, as long as you stay out of the driver's seat while on them. -
Go to a different doctor. Pay out of pocket for another physical card. Dont put on there you take the meds, leave it blank. Go to a different company were your info isnt allready on file.
Dont take the meds.
