New CDL - BackGround Checks - ExPat - Minimal US Work History

If someone were to be as open as I've been here in an application and interview process, I certainly would not hire that person either. I can't imagine anyone actually being that open though. But to get information that is of value, it requires sharing circumstances which stand a greater likelihood of eliciting genuine responses, which this thread has successfully accomplished. If I were to apply to a trucking company, I'd do so with the 2 years of US work history that would show up on a background check, and tax returns for the third year and provide contact information for my employer at the time. I certainly wouldn't be openly sharing the details which I shared here in an attempt to garner genuine actionable information.

My apologies to the colleagues who were irritated, but two thumbs up to those who were entertained. It's always nice to get some comic relief in an otherwise mundane workday.

I was an ex-pat. I just listed my 10 years overseas work history and addresses on applications.

Some companies did not want to mess with me bc they couldn't verify my work history (Warner). 90% didn't give a spit.

You'll be able to get work as long as you no longer have outstanding charges.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, the OP could try applying at Carolina Cargo or TransAm. They just might take him if the OP does get his CDL.

Sure the hell isnt hireright. I use a private company who does a real background check. These guys do security clearance reports for the dod and FBI, so I trust they do good work.

Good for you, trucking helped you (really I am) but this is a dumping ground for people who mess up and don't give a crap.

And by the way, you're only a felon after you are convicted.

 

Hireright is good enough for most carriers to stay in regulatory compliance. However if I had contracts where I had to really check out my drivers I would not use just hireright.
