Where do they list jobs? Are you talking about Class A driving for them or other positions? As with many other jobs I believe they require a year min experience. Anyways, I was looking for nights. I don't mind trucking but I want to be able to day trade still. I can make a living driving but the sky is the limit trading. I don't care how long it takes me to be a full on pro. I have friends that make millions.
New CDL class A with lots of questions

Yes, class a and yes they do require a year. I got shot down but a very professional and quick reply i was impressed.
I hear you with day trading. Takes $$$ to make $$$ and when you cant gamble objectively, it's just that. I'll stick with legally lowering my tax liability as much as possible and the S&P tyvm. -

Is $26 an hour for training and $27 an hour with 1.5x OT and ruffly 2 hr a day OT and potentially more a good start? -
No....it is not a good start.
Instead...I would submit...it is an EX-CEL-LENT start....!!!
Let's do a quick recap:
- Teamster's Union gig (what you wanted earlier)
- FREE HEALTH INSURANCE--FOR YOU--AND YOUR FAMILY
- Overtime (1.5x) after 8/40
- Experience with LTL linehaul--one of the best-paying gigs in the industry
- Home DAILY
- Pretty darn good training pay--especially for almost zero previous CDL "seat time"
- You totally miss out on all that over-the-road fun CDL stuff (NOOOOTTT
)
- Later on--this experience will allow you the option to pivot to another LTL job/carrier--OR tanker duty--your choice
- I'm sure I could just go on.....
I would submit--since now you've started out with a gig pulling "wiggle wagons" and bumping docks....when you finally (if ever) do tanker duty...your frame of reference will be MUCH wider....and so you will appreciate tanker's nuances THAT MUCH MORE....
If you had (instead) started out straight into tanker--you wouldn't later respect that world nearly as much.
This is one reason (among others) why my earlier job suggestions were mostly dry van duty.

Question: Is the ag exempt also true if you're hauling wine, fruit juice, etc? -
