hehehehe... I hear what your saying IP. I can really hear the difference between the TK's and the Rigmasters when we pull into truck stops. Me personally, I'm already getting used to it, because the Reefer unit is often louder than the APU when it's in "Supercool" mode....it vibrates the dang rig and it oscillates like crazy. So, I'm finding I'm sleeping right through them already now...heheheh.

Well, in Denver waiting on a Meat load to California. One wee little problem....Winter Storm warning for the entire State and part of AZ starting tonight through Wed AM. It would have been nice to pick the load up today and get ahead of the snow, but it appears we will most likely have to bunk here tonight. So, it looks like I'll get my first experience driving in the snow and it's only day 5 for me. Nothing like getting me really exposed to all the elements of driving..hehehehe. They have us routed through I70 as well, so I'll get the Mountain driving experience AND the snow...YEEEHAWWWW!!

welcome to the wonderful world of trucking, don't worry about your shoulders, its one of those things that goes with the territory. mine get sore too. its from sitting in one position all day with little movement or exercise , eat lots of banannas and leafy green veggies or broccoli. for the pottasium content , helps keep muscle cramps down. I helps to stop and stretch and do some light exercise of the arms and shoulders for a min of so , and walk around a little too, doing a tire thumping session and quick check of the truck gives you that opprutunity... pop a couple bayer aspririn before bed and a hot shower , that usually fixes my shoulders.... congrats on your progress. I am enjoying catching up with ya , i am sitting in bunk in carneys point n.j. waiting to go load tomorrow so this is my entertainment for tonite , keep up the good work...

JimRoy - Showers, Exercise, stretching? What are those things? My Instructor drives HARD! We don't have time to stop. We stop once for any length of time...and that is at the end of the day. Think I'm joking? Fuel stops are short and long enough for a bathroom break. I'm about ready to jump ship on this instructor but my fear is I'll just be jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

Here's recap of yesterday and today:

    Yesterday:

-Caught in Snowstorm and blizzard in Denver, CO.
-Delayed picking up meat load to California due to weather and customer delays
-My Instructor took out a Waste Management Garbage Truck (see pics below)
-We're delayed 4 hours getting out of Denver
-I'm put in the drivers seat to drive 8 hours in snow and black ice....hmmm....
-Parked for the night around 11:30pm

    Day 2 of our trip:

-Had to teach my instructor how to run legal E-Logs. He has been logging me "Off Duty" regardless of any activities I do while on the truck. That is NOT how we are taught to log our time. The ONLY time you will log "off time" is when you're physically away from the truck such as in a Restaurant or during "Home Time". Otherwise, you're either "ON Duty Driving", "On Duty Not Driving" or "SB" (Sleeper Berth).

-Otherwise, an uneventful day making our way down through N. Mexico, Across Arizona and into Barstow, CA for the night.
-Have an 8am Drop off in Los Angeles area

    Drive safe out there!

LOL, Well do a couple of laps around the TS after u get up in the morning, Also you can do your stretching while he fuels. Doesn't take that long. I pretty much do what JimRay does. When I am running out west here, I try to park up away from the TS's, at rest area's, hideaways etc, that way I can take some walking time. These things you will learn as you go along. Hang in there, it gets better once you get your own truck. After all, you can only be running for 14 hours. lol

You're instructor won't be instructing much longer with a preventable accident on his ticket.
