New Century Transportation

Well day one is in the books here day consisted of physical,,drug screen,and a kinetics test that was a lil more strenuous than I had gone through,basically a resistance test to see how strong you are was all done on a machine and lasted about 45 minutes.Tomorrow will be the first of 3 days of classroom,so far so good.I forgot to mention that they are currently offering a $2000 sign on bonus paid in $500 increments for 4 quarters.

 

Day 2 is in the books here,lots and lots of paperwork today along with explanation of benefits and good old logging class.This company as with my previous employer expects you to run and log completly legal,no cutting corners and no tricks,looks like the days of the outlaw trucker are numbered for sure.Tomorrow is another full day starting with Haz-Mat training.Take care and be safe out there.

 

Another day of classroom today,first half of day was dedicated to Haz-Mat training.Just a word to the wise here if you don't want to pull haz-mat loads this is not the place for you seems roughly 30% of their loads are these so you will pull them.I continue to be impressed by the profesionalism exhibited by everyone i come into contact with here in orientation all great folks.Tomorrow is the last day of classroom,truck assignments tomorrow evening got my fingers crossed for a kw but we shalll see,know all of their tractors are equipped with apu's and refrigerators so i'm sure will work out fine.Be safe everyone.

 

Well orientation is over,talk about information overload.Its been quite the 3 days.since I haven't actually hauled any freight for these people i'm not gonna say you gotta come over here i'll hold off on anything like that but I can say they really seem to respect and appreciate their drivers.Got my tractor assignment today nautrally I didn't get what I wanted...lol,instead its a 2005 Int with the eagle pkg it was clean with a refrigerator and apu and everything works on it,thats all I can ask for.Will be updating often on loads and such.Be safe out there.

 

Just finished my first load.Picked up a loaded reefer at the yard in Westampton,NJ on friday afternoon with 6 stops on it.Delivered my first stop this morning in Sulpher Springs,Tx and then delivered the other 5 in the Dallas area and was done by 3 o'clock,now the best part this lil run paid me about $800 for a good 3 days work I think I can live with that,on a side note invested in the rand mcnally tnd 500 before i took this job and it performed great including routing me to a truck stop after I finished up for the day.Company said they had p/u for me tomorrow so I am going to relax the rest of the evening,be safe out there.

 

Not sure, you would have to call recruiting know they won;t hire you if there not sure they can get you home.

 

Sitting in Rockwall,Tx getting ready to head over to Ft.Worth to p/u load going to Enfield,Ct nice lil 1800 mi load,you guys be safe.
