They are the ones that hired student driver and you know you are almost limited when you are new because everybody wants 6 months experience or more i laugh when some drivers saying that dont go werner or swift they will do this and that to you and the same driver got his first experience with werner or swift

You are in the mecca of truck driving on the east coast shouldn't be a problem finding something. Off the top of my head I can think of, Mecca trucking, Best transport, Eastern Freightways, YRC, UPS, Estes, NEMF. You can try the Hunts Point market out, your most likely gonna get an owner operator that needs a body to move some stuff around, pay might hurt for a bit but get experience and move on. Do NOT get a truck until you absolutely know what you are doing, you don't want to potentially be taking out light poles, or scraping fenders up there in your own truck plus the bridges and tolls will kill your check if you pay out of pocket. Also jump over to NJ and check some places out in Newark and Kearny. You should be fine, don't settle for some big OTR company to pay you peanuts to run 48 states.

Do not buy a tractor before you even get hired as a driver. You need to get some experience and see if you really want to truck. You may want to try and find some smaller family owned companies or even drive for an Owner Operator.

For god's sakes don't even think about buying a tractor till you get some experience! Especially if you live in Ny,Nj area ! #1 where would you park your truck? you should be able to find a company up there to work for but please get being a 0/0 out of your head for awhile! good luck

You never have to worry about your sex life in trucking, you're gonna get raped almost every day, sometimes more than once per day. Buy a tractor if that seems insufficient and you want to add raping yourself.
