    They tell folks around here 60 days. Even so........ can't do it. :biggrin_25512: :biggrin_25512: :biggrin_25512: :biggrin_25512: :biggrin_25512: :biggrin_25512:

I fail to see the need for a big company to ask the guy at the bottom of the food chain to float their operation for 60 or 90 days while they collect interest on YOUR money.

    (f) Payment period' The lease shall specify that payment to the lessor shall be made within 15 days after submission of the necessary delivery documents and other paperwork concerning a trip in the service of the authorized carrier. The paperwork required before the lessor can receive payment is limited to log books required by the Department of Transportation and those documents necessary for the authorized carrier to secure payment from the shipper. In addition, the lease may provide that, upon termination of the lease agreement, as a condition precedent to payment, the lessor shall remove all identification devices of the authorized carrier and, except in the case of identification painted directly on equipment, return them to the carrier. If the identification device has been lost or stolen, a letter certifying its removal will satisfy this requirement. Until this requirement is complied with, the carrier may withhold final payment. The authorized carrier may require the submission of additional documents by the lessor but not as a prerequisite to payment. Payment to the lessor shall not be made contingent upon submission of a bill of lading to which no exceptions have been taken. The authorized carrier shall not set time limits for the submission by the lessor of required delivery documents and other paperwork.

If I'm understanding this correctly, the companies can't hold your paycheck for 60/90 days?

A lot of companies do any way.

Hold for 30 to 90 days.
Some hold until they get paid. The way I look at it, is that if they get screwed is no reason for me to get screwed out of the freight money too.
If I'm leased to a carrier they become the factoring company and its their job to check credit refs so that nobody gets screwed out of freight money.

having seen the rates in this industry vary so much in the last 5 years there is no way I would give anyone a chance to get in my pocket for 3 weeks.I might go 2 weeks if I knew the owner to be a man of integrity. There is no reason to hold 3 weeks in this day of scanners and tripak.

I know of One company who operates like that. called RoadLink. And they're going under. Another company came into town and drivers all flocked over there. And said they're making better money now.

It is a Law if you're getting paid percentage, that on your' settlement the rate has to show what it pays them to get your percentage rate.

You say other drivers say they're happy with the company? Are they Pi-on's ? :biggrin_25519: And don't care what the rates are ? Or what they make?

Did the drivers not tell you what they made?

Don't believe that Bull when a company says they don't want the rate out because another company may outbid them.

Yeah, like all these other trucking companies are going to come up to you and ask you what rate are they getting?
What a Lying Bull,,,, because that's between you and the company. For Any job or Company that you work for.

    Technically speaking,, ?
I would never work for a Company that wouldn't tell me how much I'm making.
If they have to hide the fact,,, then there is something wrong with that picture.

If a company was paying you $1,000 a day.., wouldn't they be happy to tell you what you're making ?
    ,
    Use your own Discretion.

A small company shouldn't make any driver wait 3 weeks or more to get paid.
I know having my own company years ago, I would have to wait 30, 60, 90 and more days for shippers to pay. But that's the price you have to pay for being a company.. but the burden shouldn't be on the driver.
The driver is only a driver, not being the "responsible" part of the Company.
Can you tell me who is this Company?

It sounds more like, they are waiting for the money to come in first, so they can pay the driver.
That tells me, their operation is poorly runned. They should have the money upfront to pay drivers. And if Not?
They'll be out of business soon... and drivers will get stuck with nothing. Companies like that, Should be runned out of business.

Good Luck if you stick it out with them!

Besides, Once you get your settlement, you'll know what the trip paid. What's to stop you from spilling the beans then?
