We have ways of dealing with you and your toast.
rookietrucker and Dieselboss Thank this. -
It didn't hit me when I posted earlier, you have the EVGA Classified motherboard. I looked at that board and also looked at EVGA 170-BL-E762-A1 LGA But the specs on the ASUS mobo I bought, fared a little better(not much). The only thing that sold me was the memory expansion capability. I can go from 1066 to 2000mhz and I didn't find that in the EVGA specs. Memory is not cheap these days.
I would like to hear some input on the EVGA mobo. Any problems with the board ? If you had to deal with tech support, Did they actually help you ?

It's not my first EVGA board, and I've never had to deal with their tech support to date. Their stuff has been flawless so far. I love this board because it is an overclocker's dream. Lots of bios settings to tweak, a digital code status display right on the board, 3 PCI express slots, a "clear" CMOS button on the back. I've also had great luck with Asus and MSI boards in the past, but this is the most expensive one I've bought to date.
During OC testing I cranked the memory to 1900Mhz before it crapped out, but that was not the MoBo's fault. I don't think it would have a problem with 2000 Mhz.Last edited: May 6, 2010

My wife does that for me!

Here's your sick overclocking EVGA "fastest system on planet earth" video.
Thing is covered in thermal blankets and liquid nitrogen. Minus 180 degrees C.

Yeah, I think I seen that video before. That is eXtreme overclocking right there. Way more money than I want to spend, though I would not mind tinkering with it for a afternoon.

ATI is dog crap. Since AMD bought them, they only update drivers for new OSs for the newest of their cards. Linux and Mac support is atrocious. They are fine if you only want to run Windows and never upgrade it. They used to make decent video cards until they merged with AMD.

My roomate got some nice ATI cards to run in SLI a couple years ago. They would never run anything but the desktop. You had to disable the SLI to play anything. Now he has them split up between two machines and neither one will even run a raid in WoW without being blind to half of what's going on. They never updated the drivers for them and the ones they had were more like beta drivers.
The one in my newer laptop works great though. -
ATI used to be a notch above nVidia. Not anymore but still a decent video gaming card. (imo). Their tech support is lacking like a few of these companies out here that I have dealt with. Seems they concentrate more time in the lab pushing newer product out than supporting what they have out. These video cards are getting more expensive to boot.
