I have had this "new" Qualcomm for a month now, I am still on paper logs. It is a pain to remember to do my log when I first stop. I always write down my time and miles each time I stop and then do my log when I am ready to take off again, I am always having to go back and "fix" my e-log because I forget to do it when I first stop. I have also forgotten to log in as "On Duty" in the morning before I start my pretrip, another pain, I was always taught that do your pretrip first, then start your log, that way if you find something wrong you can stay off duty til its fixed. Oh well... such is the life of an over the road truck driver. I think this could be a really useful tool for the driver, but it will take a HUGE amount of work on the back end in the office to really make this thing worth while. If they got there act together it would mean the end of all the stupid messages, 30 and 11 every morning, arrive at shipper and consignee, all of that crap could be taken right out of the log data. I am sure that they will have access to in real time. Like I said it could be really useful, but I figure that will take years if ever.

That in truck scanning will be nice! I don't know how many times I didn't make it to a scanner in time for my paperwork to go on the next check! That alone would be nice, but to add in the e-logs as well would be cool. Will those computers have email on them too? That would be nice.

not sure but you can make that buzzing stop. there is a switch on the dash by your ignition or on the other side that turns it off....

Yeah that's a pain which is why I like my new company so much better. As soon as we send our arrival message we get paid. Only thing we have to wait til we scan our paper work is expenses.

Yep if you fudge your log books you won't like the e-logging.

well i waited 13 hours for my new system. didnt get into maintenance so i had to go. did figure out that my qualcomm loses contrast after starting up. so if i adjust that i can see it. but now i have a nice puddle in the floor of the truck, not fun getting up to that , wet feet suck, putting a dish out tonight, dont exactly have a bucket here :)
