Well, it's been over a year since I have driven OTR. I need to hit the road since there are no jobs here. I really want a company that has a terminal out of NW Indiana and allows dogs. I have 6mo OTR and 8mo local experence. Im sure whoever I go to will make me drive with a trainer for a short time. I do need a company who will get me home when they say I will be. That is my biggest pet peve. Does anyone have any suggestions? I do prefer reefer but can pull anything.

Sounds like you should have no problem, have you tried any of the finer large companies? Schneider, swift, JBHunt etc........

So, you need to make some scratch? You've come to the right industry. Does $200 a week strike your fancy? Gross? Put in some apps, your phone will be ringing off the hook....... Oh, can you settle for monthly home time instead of weekly? Good luck.

They dont allow dogs. I am kind of looking at US Express, but I want to look at more companies.

This industry is in the toilet right now. Doubt seriously you will make any money and be home within a week of when you want. Bad time to think this industry likes it drivers because they treat em like dog do do.

It will then pull up an entire list of companies near you...

    Good luck!

I started off at USA Trucks, so I definately know how crappy these companys can be to drivers. I also spent five months at Prime. I really dont have a choice here. I have to go over the road or my family doesnt eat. So as long as I can find a company who will let me take a furbutt along and give me consistent miles without lying to me about gettin home I am game.

Ok heres what i would do in your case and it sounds like to me you should be ok and not have to settle for a starter company but i am not in an position to judge you since i do not know your driving history and usis report.....
First thing get on the safestat web site.... Just google safestat.....when you get on it search for the state you live in and all of the trucking companies that are in your state will be on there find the ones that you want and start making phone calls.
Second thing you can do is if you know what companies specifically you want to apply for just google them....
Third thing you can do is go to drivers. , cdl. , class a. , and the list keeps going there is over 60 diffrent . Com and . Net addresses on the internet and most have partial applications that only are about 5 minutes to do... But your phone will be ringing off the hook and if you put in your email address in them your email box will fill up every day..
    Hope that this helps!

A lot of companies have eitheir terminals or drop yards in the area. So finding something shouldn't hard. The problem is finding a company that'll let you take a furball with you.
