My guess is it’s just like a bypass? So guessing it’s just over pressure? I’m putting a return on the catwalk so I can run a belt trailer. The filter goes in the return right under the catwalk based on other trucks I looked at. But can’t tell or remember if I seen the bypass line before or after it? The paperwork says it makes the pump last longer set up that way..
But the instructions aren’t really very clear?

The second one with the plug is to allow the pump to circulate the oil in the reservoir when the hoist control is in neutral so the oil doesn't overheat.cke, Friend, broke down plumber and 6 others Thank this.

I don't run a filter on mine, so not sure how they're typically plumbed. You definitely want to put that sleeve in so cool oil will circulate in the pump when you're in Hold position with PTO engaged. Sometimes while paving, they'll slow to a walk to "buy time" for next truck(s) to get on scene so they don't have to stop.cke, broke down plumber, Big Road Skateboard and 4 others Thank this.

Go to 12:00 mark of this video and it shows how they plumb for a dump or belt trailer with a filter.

Still waiting on plumbing fittings. Til the first real drive since the cutoff on. Came back with oil all over the rear diff. Turns out there is a rust hole in the pinion seal…

Good tip for doing graphics is use magnets to hold in place. FYIcke, Friend, broke down plumber and 7 others Thank this.

If you're using the fitting on the end as the suction line you need to reroute that lower. It will suck air if the line is above the oil level in the reservoir.
