Here's an idea. Why not make it hard for the DOT and don't do any drugs?

    Oh, I wholeheartedly agree

Now, when can we expect to see mandatory logbooks, medical cards , and random drug testing for snowbirds driving anything over 26,000 GVW?

Drug tests are ########!!!! CDL holders are tested, but senators, congressmen, and the president go unchecked????

Hell my friend works in law enforcement and is allowed to work while taking prescribed opiates....but IF I hurt something I am forced to take x-tra strength advil...not saying I should be allowed to take morphine and drive, but a little sense to these laws please.

    Regulations

[IMG] Print 40.85 What drugs do laboratories test for?

As a laboratory, you must test for the following five drugs or classes of drugs in a DOT drug test. You must not test "DOT specimens" for any other drugs.
    (a) Marijuana metabolites.
    (b) Cocaine metabolites.
    (c) Amphetamines.
    (d) Opiate metabolites.
    (e) Phencyclidine (PCP).

So, does this make LSD, Valium and the like acceptable in the eyes of the DOT?

I'd like to see it for anyone driving a vehicle, no matter what weight! Snowbirds are dangerous in cars too. I lived in Florida for 5 years, and it doesn't matter what the snowbirds drive.

I do agree, and have thought for years that anyone pulling a trailer should be required to take additional testing and require a special endorsement on their license to pull a trailer of any kind.

    Lurchgs Thanks this.
