new driver (3 mnths) with a question

I know it depends on your area but I went local after about 3 months of realizing I hated OTR

 

I would go back to Earl Henderson and put more time in. Better opportunity will arise with 6 months-1yr experience

 

DSI in Harrison, OTR but home every 7-10 days, home most weekends. I am an Owner OP there and they do a decent job.

Maverick Transportation in Little Rock is good. I worked there when I was a dispatcher. Pay is really good but it isn't the kind of place you will get big miles. Overall it isn't a bad deal though.

 

Their reputation, USA Truck, isn't that good, but many drivers do real well there. The biggest complaint is drivers not doing writeups on pre-trip/post-trip on the trailers. That's a driver problem, not a company problem.

What about Tyson Foods?
Abilene Motor Express - excellent reputation/100% no-touch freight.
Magnum Ltd. - excellent reputation, but miles seem much more with Abilene.

Other than those; stick with Henderson.

Some of the best companies rarely recruit at schools. All those I listed hire new cdl grads even it the websites have "experience required." They all hire new cdl grads.
