Maverick transportation is good. Could get you home weekly if willing to do flatbed. It is a good company. Definitely better pay than 500 a week. Easy you should get 750 or better a week with them. Otherwise they do have reefer ( which they like to call temperature control) but you have to be out at least 2 weeks with that I think.

i called mav..was cool till i told them b4 i got my cdl i was not working for 5 months .(no unemployment...sold house and moved to dennard to take care of inlaws..ahltimers and demintia) said needed one full year of employment b4 last job..i worked warehouse for 15 before that ..but that didnt count..so i dnt think theyl have me

Didn't realize that was a requirement. Kind of stupid if you ask me.

if you aren't afraid of actual work look into any soda or beer delivery companies, the pay is USUALLY a little below standard but it will get you home every night with your wife. Maybe something local is posted on craigslist near you? sure like others have said youll get more opportunities with 6-12 months, but you just just take a lower paying job to get that exp locally, which would end up looking a lot better on a resume if you wanted to move to a better local position than OTR.
