new driver (3 mnths) with a question

    well. i have an update.i found something local. but id like some real world advice..first my situation..41 married stepkids are grown..laid off from factory after 15years...sold house..moved wife and self to her folks farm to take care of them..both in 80s.both have altimers and dementia...wife cant work..has to take care of them full time..i looked for work around small town ar. nothing...got cdl drove otr 3 months wife begged me come off the road and help her out...so...here we are...the farm truck car and house are all paid for ...their money covers utilities med bills taxes food until they pass...then my wife and i supposedly inherit the place..now im not here to vulture off my inlaws..im here because my wife wanted to make sure they are takin care of..and they are...but my delima is this..the local lumber yard ..basically like a home center..has give me a job driving their big delivery truck..think straight truck with a forklift on the back...requires a cdl..manual labor wich im no stranger to 40-45 hrs week and always sunday off and home every night...but pays the worst iv made in 17-18 years..10 per hr...now keep in mind i dont have a lot of bills..my personal truck is a 66 chevy..i sold everything else we had when we moved here so we would be debt free...but ####..10 per hr .??..and they dont keep a log..so would this job even be considered any type of usefull exp? later on...well now that you no my situation..id like to know what any of you would do...and you can be brutally honest..my thought is this might be the job i need right now...not the job i really want...any replies are appreciated ...and im sorry for the length of this post...

    I'd go for it. It won't count as OTR experience but someone will hire you if and when you want it. Right now you just have to do what you have to do.

    do u think it would count for city driving exp.??

    It might,depends on the company. Probably would not count for combination vehicle experience since it is a straight truck.

    kinda what i thought...i loved otr ..and miss it..but the wife cant take care of her folks and the farm too...everythings old as hell and needs repairs...
