Thanks for the help. I was hoping someone might want to share what they know about specific details when it comes to companies that higher recent grads. Sysco has already made me an offer for when I graduate and I like their benefits but I work with Sysco drivers in my current job and it seems like they are very unorganized when loading trailers and I'm not sure that I want to unload a trailer box by box every day. Many of the Reps I have talked to either don't have benefit information or won't share it with me until I sign which is common for most businesses. Most of that I get from anybody is what medical group the insurance is through but no plan information. I'll keep looking and asking around. I've still got time before I move on from my job and decide where I go next.

I’ve never had a recruiter NOT give me benefit info, when inquiring by phone. And, I’ve had a LOT of driving jobs, in ~30yrs.

Check into Magnum LTL. They just opened a terminal about 20 miles from you in Chippewa Falls. They have, in the past, hired new drivers with no experience for the LTL side. I saw it twice at the Sioux Falls Terminal. If they don't take you on as a local driver right away, they will still probably hire you for OTR work, and then after some experience, you could slide into a local job on the LTL side or go to another company.

I have worked for the company's LTL and OTR divisions and was always treated well and made pretty decent money. The insurance will vary based on location and your chosen plan, but it will be a high-deductible plan with an available HSA account. The cost will vary, but they offer free coverage with higher and lower deductibles if you choose to pay for it.

They are an excellent choice for new drivers and can still be a good fit for more experienced drivers.

The cost, coverage, quality of health insurance will vary from company to company.

Werner used to offer health insurance benefits first day on the job. Don’t know if they still do though. The Training pay used to be flat rate salary for 90 days. Not a bad deal, at least you knew what to expect to make during Training. Again, maybe that’s all changed.
