Get a job with who you can right now. Your new and your going to be picky? Once again a newb who expects the world out of truck driving school. Pay your dues like the rest us had to do then you can be picky once you prove yourself. You are expendable. There are 1000's like you everyday in every part of the country. "I got my CDL and now I can't find the perfect job."

Don't forget that you might not be making a ton of money but keep all of your logbooks and claim the $52.00 a day per diem at the end of the year. Whatever that figure comes out to be is how much money you made that you DON'T have to pay income tax on. So, you should get a good size check from the Gov't. at tax time. Don't take the companies per diem. Get a good tax person that knows trucking and let them do your taxes and per diem at the end of the year. My two cents. And one more thing, forget everything you read about Swift, Werner and all the other big companies that someone else had trouble with. Go with the one that will hire you and do the best job you can and get some experience. Get a thick skin because you will have to put up with some crap along the way and NOT QUIT... If your wanting to support your family then do whatever you have to until things get better. I went to 3 rest areas and talked to Swift drivers, Werner drivers and some others to get my real answers. Keep your temper in check and learn everything you can, and whatever you do if you get far enough to get your own truck, DON'T piss off your driver manager... He or she controls your paycheck and can have a big affect on your stress level. There, that's my 3 cents worth.

I have a few options that I am waiting for a response. My school is also having a "Career Fair" with some recruiters there. Also fed ex is hiring newbies for the holiday season supposedly. I am just waiting for my letter from TSA for my hazmat and will apply to a few local construction companies. I am being patient and getting input from you guys and friends who drive. Thanks for all of your advice.
