WHY with ALL the negative posts about CRE do drivers still go there? If you think that CRE will treat you better than any other prospective employer you are wrong.
In 6 months you'll be a share cropper, in 7 months a trainer and next Christmas, you'll be broke and homeless living in a cardboard box.

Yes I am a phase 1 trainer, only get one student at a time. Tried two before but that is just double the headache.

Thanks for all the input from all that posted here My wife and i read all the posts yesterday morning and realized that i got 10 comments and not one was encouraging me to go ahead with my plans. I spoke to a Swift recruter this morning and he is getting my MVR and I will call him back tomorrow.I believe that I can pass the road test at orientation so I will only have to do 6 weeks with a trainer and then can go solo. Thanks to all of you for helping me avoid what could have been a bad mistake.I have wanted to start this new career for a long time and now I am going to make it happen.

Kind of hard to believe CRE would risk having a truck pulled over for inspection with 3 trainees in it.
-
Training is difficult especially with CRE since you still move team freight. I usually keep my weekly miles to 4,200 a week but that's still a gamble. After a week of not sleeping your body/mind gets to the point where you have to sleep even if the student is driving. Some trainers fall asleep the first night they have the student.
I have an application in right now with another company, hope to get the green light soon.Bigrigbound Thanks this. -
I guess you are expected/ required to allow the trainee to drive a certain amount every day, and you try to limit most of that to open road, not heavy city traffic? Is there a limit per day/ per week to avoid violating the minimum wage law?

... Trucking, minimum wage law? ...

I have seen them with 3 trainees as well. I didnt even know that was legal.
