If it happens, You'll have a hour to get here.....lol...
It is a shame that the wages for most trucking jobs seem to be poverty wages at best.......I made more money bartending 15 years ago than lots of the trucking jobs I have tried to get lately..........

Well, right now I'm looking around and have talked to Cordell trucking here in Dayton, I'm hoping to use a pity card with them since my Dad died driving one of their trucks last February and I have some contacts there. They're on a hiring freeze till the second week of January though.
Hadn't thought about Rumpke, I'll have to check that out.
Home time isn't an issue, single with no immediate family so they can keep me out for a few months for all I care.
My biggest thing is, I don't know where the companies are around here (small ones that is) or how to find them. -
First off, it's illegal for them to put the accident on your DAC if you weren't cited for it! That doesn't mean they won't try... It's up to you to make sure the pricks don't get away with it!
Second, it's surprising that they fired you for that I have known a few driver's that worked on their Home Depot account and Canadian fleet out of New Boston , and they have told me stories of guys doing everything from roll overs to clipping barriers and rupturing Fuel Tanks...
I actually saw one where a Hazmat team had to be called in...
The Home Depot distribution facility that the SWIFT Drivers in Michigan work out of is in Monroe, MI and when you exit the road turns into a No truck rout about a 1/4 of a mile down the west bound side... He was looking for the Home Depot DC( which was to the East) so instead of turning around in the Pilot or TA, he decided to attempt a U-Turn(you heard right) on a little service road that was Flanked by two large Boulders... Needless to say he Didn't clear it and dumped over a Hundred Gallons of Fuel in the Parking lot of a small Motel...
I know for a fact they Did not fire him, in fact the gave him a dedicated run... Go figure!
I Don't care how much damage you did to that truck, cause I'm confident that it cost a lot more to have a Hasmat team sent to clean up that fuel!
If I were you I would get a regular job to help pay the bills and set aside some money to pay for a refresher course at your nearest CDL school... Then you have a much easier go at getting back into the game!
PS. Find out ASAP if they in fact put that on your DAC... If so contact the highest person in Phoenix they will let you talk to and inform them that they have 2 weeks to clear up your DAC or your Attorney will be Filling Fraud charges against them... Trust me it works!
Good Luck! -
Start my doing a search for Freight Transportation Services in and around your town... I'd use Yellow pages website!

With the way things are in the economy companies are using any excuse to fire/lay-off any people who are costing the comapny money or are just dead weight of not performing.
If you are doing things correctly on your job........try to find ways to do a little better.........
Those of you who just get by......don't mess up or get caught..
Those who are not doing what they are supposed to, it is just a matter of time.
I spoke to a driver who was fired last week for his idle time % too high. Even with the fuel costs down and it being winter time. Listening to him talk about things, in my opinion it was just the excuse they used...... -
They can report it under work related claims... But not accident's! -
first c-1 is a joke cost way to much. but I had a student that hit a poll in my truck when I was with schnider. and they just made him go back threw a driving school. and he still had a job.
