Learn both. If you were a fighter, would you want to learn to fight with one hand or both?

Interested drivers with no experience are also invited.

Learn to float after you are comfortable with double-clutch. Floating is easier than double-clutch but sometimes, like some road tests, you are required to double-clutch. If you move to floating right away you will never have enough practice double-clutching smoothly. Looking like a clunky uncoordinated driver on a company road test is not good when attempting to get hired .

For starting out in flatbed -- this one is a no-brainer -- Maverick is hiring new CDL holders near you:
Maverick Transportation -- hires/trains brand new CDL holders -- different types of flatbed to gain varied experience -- Youngstown, OH
It's easily one of the best places to start out in the CDL world -- if interested in flatbed.
