    Hirschbach does the same thing, I know they also have a rider program, I have a friend there who takes his kid with him in the summer. Not sure on the new hire aspect although this friend only had about 4 months experience when he went there., worth looking into anyway, if Direct TV is a consideration

    Don't know for sure; think they start at .32 cpm with automatic raises every so often.

    From the website:Experienced drivers start at 32 cents per mile (total compensation plus per diem) and are eligible for a ½ cent per mile raise every six months! (up to maximum)

    Doesn't say what the accessorial pays are.
    @BostonTanker

    Hard to say; I only made .36 cpm with 20 yrs. experience, but with accessorial pays and running hard, made 65K with another company.

    I had a TransAm recruiter come into my class, rider program yes, but must be immediate family / spouse. =( .. Thats the way alot of companies are going I guess. I dont know I will keep looking. The Directv sounded great though.. and I know Western Express is doing that as well. But I dont know if that gimmick is worth the headache of starting off with them

    New Drivers always get wrapped up in CPM and will often chase a few cents more and wind up making less money.

    People in here, especially the one and two year drivers are quick to recommend certain companies based on cpm. The reality is that is only a part of the equation.

    As Chinatown points out there is accessorial pay, and the most fundamental variable of all, which kind of miles are you being paid? HHG miles? Knock 10% right off the bat. Practical miles, only about 3% if you don't go out of route. Think about that...

    2500 miles run is paid at 2250 miles HHG and 2425 at Practical... That by itself accounts for a couple of cpm. Add in bonuses, layover, detention etc and sometimes, working for less is actually making more.

    Do your homework and don't take numbers at face value.

    I haven't really heard much good about them myself, and used to work for them YEARS ago. Tons of better companies to work for

    They have the worst equipment that I have ever seen. They dont pay much. My apu went out in Batesville, IN in 20 degree weather. They have the automatic engine shut off after 5 mins. USA refused to get anyone out to fix my apu as they said roads were too bad. I was stuck in rest area with no heat for my 10 hour and all I am told was suck it up and deal with it. That shows me dont give two ####s about their drivers.
