    Hello everyone,

I am about to complete my 14 week Driver training in 2 weeks.

Last week I went and got my Tanker endorsement and I'm currently working on obtaining my Hazmat and Twic card.

In these last 12 weeks I have learned alot and I'm enjoying what I'm doing. I love to drive but not the idiots on the road

I drive defensively and always try to keep a good following distance.

Right now I'm split between OTR and Local driving.

I'm a little nervous to jump all the way in the water but alot of people have told me thats the best experience.

The only problem is my parents are older and their health isn't too good so I would like to be there for them. I'd have to be home atleast 2 days a week.

I'm leaning more towards local but alot people I know and I ads I see for local want experienced drivers.

There is a fuel transport company I'm looking at called Eagle Transport. I am wondering if they would take me out of school.

I am 24 years old, single, I dont have any kids, no criminal record, 1 speeding ticket from 2016 going 5mph over. I'm a free agent so I am open to anything.

I am willing to do some physical labor but not lifting over 50lbs above my chest.

If any of you can give me some advice, I would really appreciate it.

there are smaller outfits that will hire right out of school.
Had two guys at my last gig - one of em is still there several years later - hauling LPG in Texas.
Just gotta dig around - Good Luck

You can ommit the speeding ticket. Just tell the recruiter you have a clean commercial license (as that is what work is based on). Only tell them about personal vehicle if they ask. The trick about getting hired these days is to chose what words you use.

Food service is a very good job. You work nights. Sysco, Reinhardt, US Foods.
I seriously don’t think they want you lifting 50 pounds above your chest. You’ll be lifting. You’ll stay in good shape.
I would have gone for one of these. I had an accident that left me with fibromyalgia. Pain in legs. Just couldn’t.
