Haha well I understand that completely. I know those high quality drivers are hard to come by. Thats another reason I like Maverick, most of their drivers/employess seem like they got a good head on their shoulders. Drivers seem like they take pride in their work and do it the RIGHT way without cutting corners. And I think the customers see that also.

And attitude is everything. Ive been at the same job since I was 16 (Im almost 22) and Ive seen so many peple come in with a bad attitude and laziness to the extreme. They end up quittng or get fired, and well Im still there lol. And I have realized those people just make the hard working peoples job so much harder and stressful. So I always go in, work and do things right. I may be young and not know alot about the "Trucking Industry" but I am willing to learn as much as I can from the best company possible.

And I understand that referral bonus must be nice, but I will decide who to mention when the time comes hahaha.

Thats cool. You were not too far from me then! I know the guy from Maverick that came to the school and talked to us said that the home depot account was going to be a great opportunity for us since we were right in that area.

I have never gotten a referral bonus either. Not counting on that ever. Not a big deal to me either.

I would never trust a driver to tell me the truth about his company. If he is pushing you to put him down as a referral.
You do not have to pay me to tell you about the company that I work for. Like I tell drivers if you are As happy as I am working here that is pay enough for me. When they asked me do they pay referral bonus I say yes but I will not give you my name I well just give you the truth about how it is work here.

I used to think exactly like this, but the recognition from the company can be just as valuable. It's another gold star on your record that could come in handy when things go wrong for whatever reason, the more good marks you have the better.

I will always tell the truth about the company I work for, whether it's Maverick or someone else. If someone wants to know what sucks, I'll gladly tell them, in the same way I'll tell them what's good.

I've come to realize that referral bonuses can be incentive for a driver to lie, but no amount of money will cause me to breach my personal ethics and beliefs. But when it all comes down to it, I'm here to make money, and if a new driver doesn't have a referral yet, I will mention my name and truck number, especially if I did a lot of typing or talking to the person answering questions and such. $500 is $500, and is always useful. I'll never feel guilty about getting a bonus or asking an incoming driver to put me down as a referral if I helped in his decision.

It might make some drivers untrustworthy, but I don't think that's true about Mav drivers. They'll tell you the truth straight out... The referral bonus is just icing on the cake.

    Mikey,
We do have the Home Depot account out of Columbia, TN. Just delivered a Charlotte Pipe load there on Friday. I talked to a couple of our drivers on that account while I was there. 21 trucks run out of there. A few day cabs and the rest are sleeper trucks.

If this were any other company I would have my doubts. But I have heard nothing but good things about Maverick. While I was in school even other trucking companies recruiters said the Maverick was a great company, plus both of the intructors. And I have done research and seen the great scores that Maverick has.

Also I dont feel as anyone is pushing me to give their name. If I know they are honest, helpful and informing me, then I would like to return the favor if I am able too. But I also see the side where you are coming from. Everyone likes to deal with business a certain way.

Reguardless, I think everyone agrees that this a great company.

Thank You for the info! Thats where I thought it was out of. And I am right in that area, so I will probably be calling this week and getting some more info about it. And also see if they are looking to add on some drivers to that account!
