I’m sorry to hear that driver. I bet you’re doing great. Just being here on this site shows you want to learn...stoked for you. I think the best remedy is for the people who survived a less than helpful trainer is to become a trainer. I’m telling you everyone wants to learn, they want to be respected and understood as well. I hope you find your way to train.

I usually roll with it turned down. Really important words have a habit of getting through.

As far as trainees, my spouse was paid so little with FFE during her training it was almost not worth the time. What she was making with benefits in her previous federal work until she escaped with a new CDL and ran off with me and saw in her paychecks were very small (around 300 week) for the work she did driving. Step back 50 years or so economically. Thats where my pay came in, I shared quite a bit with her anyway so she did not feel shorted. (About 1550 net...)

In the 80's a 500 dollar week pay is equal to a 2000 dollar pay today. Inflation has a way of destroying our monetary base making it slowly worthless. So you need a thousand weekly. Companies go through hundreds of thousands or millions. If you can get them to pay drivers what they are really worth each week without a whole bunch of traps and gotchas, you will find a much more stable driving fleet.

I travel with a duffle bag and a back pack, nothing else except bedding.

My codriver, you should see all his stuff!

Cowboy hat, 3 pair shoes even a cowboy boot cost so much he never wears it but he brings it, junk food everywhere, Xbox, TV, 50 Xbox games he never plays, etc etc..

I trained a few on occasion. Not driving, just division specific stuff. Dont like it. They are always tryin to drive down into crazy places, getting lost, trying to drive into Mexico, running stuff over... And on and on.

I dont know how you do it.

One guy drove with his seat all they down, all the way reclined, and steering wheel all the way up... Then kept complaining he can't see the road. I said thats because you are laying on the floor.
