Get an attorney! Then see a doctor, if the attorney says it's ok. In fact he will probably recomend one. Follow his advise to the letter, but do it fast before your companies investigation progresses very far.
The world is full of young people that should have, would have.

Remember "Good advise is cheap and seldom followed"
    Good luck,

i too am sorry to hear of your situation. as one person said you can get hired at swift. you and any newbie should look at the begining of this forum at the bad companies, swift is one. they would be a last resort and only to start a better reputation for myself if no one else hired me. then find another company.

with this career your licence is the only thing you have. and to keep it you need to drive safely. ( driving legal, and know when to take a rest ) otherwise you will need to look for other work because you licence will be gone.

    again good luck

I feel your pain, the msgs you get over the qualcom are BS. they always send a safety msg or two during the weekdays, but the dipsatchers will always push you no matter what the weather conditions or physical conditions you find yourself in.

standing up to them is hard, you are beset on all sides and find yourself alone in a battle of multiple fronts. you have to drive to make a living, you have to push back greedy dispatchers, fight ignorant people in payroll and logs, and permits and safety. the only ones held accountable in werner is the drivers.

the werner way is to run people lean so they are always hungry and will stay out more. its a vicious cycle and will only end with you quiting or crashing.

sorry this happened to you I can only comiserate I don't have any advice....

I would never drive for them. If your trainer is saying something like..." there's no time to stop"... if he's saying that because the company is pushing you to the brink of nervous breakdown, look for another company to work for. There is nothing in the world that is more important than your own life and safety , and your family. Not to mention the public's well being around trucks. If they push you and you get into an accident, who's fault is it? Answer.... yours !!!

I was just at the dallas terminal a few days ago, and heard again more of the horror stories concerning werner trainers. 7 weeks out 7 showers, no time to stop, they never let the student train, never let them back up, never let them use the qualcom. they just use them for the miles and kick them out the door when thier student hours are up.

they need to set up the training program to train, not to run it as a business. as long as things stay the way they are they will continue to churn out "qualified drivers" that can barely back into a parking spot at a truck stop.

that being said I actually got two trainers with experience and they both allowed me to use the qualcom and do the backing the majority of the time.

my second trainer was OTR he even encouraged me when I was doing the night driving if I felt tired park it, set an alarm and power nap for 2 hours.
    he's a good'un, his name is Perry.

of good trainers out there. But when a trainer doesn't even let someone use the qualcomm or backup... he's no trainer. The whole point of going with a trainer is to learn everything , not be used and abused and yelled at and put down. Most of the trainers in these big companies are probably not all that experienced themselves which makes no sense at all. All I can say is to lookout for yourself, even if it means finding another job or request another trainer or talk to safety about it or talk to other experienced , decent drivers who may be able to help.

'not all that experienced themselves' hit the nail on the head with that comment! werner will let you train with only 6 months exp.

according to them I could be training right now :biggrin_2551:

i don't agree with that completely. alot of trainers have been driving 20 years and have no sense of safety, courtesy, or professionalism!! greedy money grubbers, period.

I haven't heard of one of those at werner yet, but it wouldn't surprise me.

the real point i'm trying to make is some people don't take pride in their work and do everything they can to do the absolute best job they can do at it. we used to have a saying in the HVAC business. "you can do this all your life and never be any good at it" LOL
