and this has nothing to do with you personally. But let's say a nooby starts driving in March or April, drives 6 months..... becomes a trainer. Can anyone see a slight problem here ????????????

that just isnt right. with all the stupid laws we have you would think a person would have to have at least a years experience to train.
if that position was offered to me with that amount of time driving i,d turn it down. and any driver who excepts that position ( in my opinion ) is an idiot. there are many lives at stake here. -
I had a rollover with Werner and now I can't pay anyone to hire me. I was tired and it was my own poor judgment to drive. I don't blame anyone but myself. Werner is RIGID about your hours of service and they refuse to let you drive until you've had your 10 or 36 hours off. Unfortunately, in this industry, you're only as good as that last mile you turned safely. It's a sad day when companies like the driver mills of Schneider and Swift and J.B. Hunt won't even consider me, now.

That's scary. I'm about to break in to trucking and I'm real worried about that kind of severe accident. What kind of condition would cause a rollover like that?

If you don't remember what happened just before, did you suffer a concussion? That could explain not remembering. Hopefully, everything works out ok for you.

Thank you gentlemen for your thoughts. Yes, the log dept. at Werner wil ensure that you maintain legal hours. However, the dispatchers have one objective and that is to get the freight shipped quickly and efficiently. Yeah, I took my break. What the log dept. doesn't know is that during breaks you do your paper work, drop and hook, etc. New drivers, such as myself often feel intimidated by dispatch. We want to make money. If were not rolling were going broke. My trainer who was from Columbia (he had a green card) only allowed my one shower a week.
The night before my roll over, I only had 4 hours of sleep. After the trip plan I realized that the only way that I could deliver this laod on time was to have the truck being loaded while I was on break. I had to start rolling the minute my break was over. This senario has been repeated over and over again. The previous week dispatch gave me a hazmat load to pick up when I only had two hours of service left. I told them that I would run out before I could get loaded and that the shipper does not allow overnight parking. They said go anyway. I ran out of time, had to shut down and Werner had to have me towed to the nearest truck stop. That's the law. Of course, dispatch was angry and when your dispatcher is angry with you, especially new drivers, there is hell to pay.
I don't remember the accident happening. When I went to the tow yard after my wreck, to retrieve my personal belongings, I noticed that all of my paper logs were missing. I know, Werner is paperless. I was told by vetran truckers, keep paper logs anyway. You may need them someday. All of mine were removed from my truck. What else can I say.
