Dear lord. I got in just in time it seems like. College is already expensive enough, just imagine the cost of just ONE course when they know you are required to take it...

This wasn't my "dream career" but the cost for college was astounding to get into the "good" side of things. (Biomedical Engineer)

    My choices:
    a) Take the courses, find the good side. Live well off.
    b) Take the courses, find something. Live permanently in debt.

The posters that followed the original poster are infact correct. Good job guys!
    .
.You do not have to go to school to get your CDL. However, going to school for your CDL is a much easier route to getting employed.
    .
.You can get your CDL before you are 21 years old BUT you will be restricted to driving Intrastate which means driving within one state. No you cannot cross into another state and no you cannot cross an international border (Canada or Mexico). Intrastate and local do not count for OTR [over the road] experience and may require you to take a refresher course or another 160 hour CDL course when you are old enough and want to do OTR. Just something you may want to keep in mind.
