Only good answer so far and one that may be helpful . It is possible to be hired by an expedite fleet owner with no experience . I don't know of any hotshot pickup fleet owners hiring drivers .

There are no hotshot loads on UShip . Hotshot loads need to move right away . UShip shippers wait around to get the lowest rate . Hotshot shippers use known , reliable carriers .

Uship should be shut down OR made to abide by brokerage laws that are established, I have never seen more of a reason for this than the people who illegally haul stuff from uship.

I have seen state CMV enforcement officers pounce on 1 tons pulling trailers . Once you hook to a trailer you are over 10,000 lbs. I worked for a company that had a lot of F-350 crewcabs and they had good knowledge of regulations . Nobody could drive an F-350 pulling a trailer unless they had a medical card .

You are right. This guy is saying his truck is less than 10,000 pounds and his trailer is less than 10,000 so he can haul anything less than 10,000 pounds. The scales north of me have stopped several of these guys because they are blowing by the scales then it's off to the impound yard. I know it cost to get legal but it's a lot cheaper than getting impounded. I really don't see how these guys do it but there is a lot of them working there with no DOT or MC# number.

I don't know how any carrier can make a living off Uship when:

    1) The rates are very low.

    2) Competition is fierce making rates go even lower.

    3) Large percentage of shippers are flakes
