New drivers want the same recognition as a driver that drove for 40 years. We say things that bring back memories through our Trucking career, because many times it was a very tough road to get where we are now. We have gone through so much, and to listen on this board what we have done in our lives as Truck Drivers, the stories, are just amazing, and we relate to them. Way back then, we did not have TheTruckersReport to talk with anyone, We would see each other now and then, Sit at a Table and talk, we had equipment that was NOTHING like today. For some reason, I feel that the New Drivers out there today, Dont like to hear any of the Veteran drivers talk about the Good Ol Days. Well, I'm sorry, but we earned our right to talk about how we achieved our goals as Truckers. I'm Very PROUD to have RUN with Many Veteran Drivers in my life. In 30 - 40 Years from now, Many of us will be gone, Then it will be there time to share there experiences in Trucking with others. I have said this many times before, but guess some just dont get it, In Trucking, the only way you gain Experience is, By Time, you cant change that. Now it is TIME for this Crusty Ol Driver, to sit in my chair, and fall asleep.

Ya know War...If i just make a difference in one maybe two of the new drivers from just reading my post as well as yours and others it make me feel good that they listen and read just what we use to do and how we got to be where we are now.. we have all seen alot and we have learned and to pass it on so that like you say one day they will be reading post from new drivers and giving them advice cause they are VETs ...I had a young guy and his girlfriend ask me at the fuel island how long ive been driving..I told them and they said wow and asked if they could call me pop's..i laughed and said sure and that was 12 yrs ago..today they are O/O and keep in touch with me and always say Thanks Pop's for the advise cause without it they would have given up long ago... that my brother makes me feel good and proud of my life on the road.
