Hello drivers, found this site while searching for a heater issue my current rig is having even shop mechanic don't know what to do, its a 2000 model freightliner dump, has the cummins motor in it, and do believe its a 8 speed. I have had my cdl for around 14 years have not been OTR, my last job had to have it being the trucks we had were with the weight class of haveing a CDL. The last trucks I drove were all auto's so I never had a chance to really learn to shift these trucks, but since staring my new job in the past couple months I got the hang of it pretty quick still learning though, took a good couple days but had the basics, down can float the gears good though I do shift out to downshift, haven't got hang of using the throttle to #### out down then back in, but getting there.

So far I have liked this dump driving job, its fun but can be hairy, I do get paid by the hour and not the load, so rather where I am running or not I get paid. Its also a whole different experience then the international dumps we had at my old job, they and spring suspension, no air bags, just a dump and go. This company hauls sand, rock, dirt and also does contract hourly jobs with contractors when they need trucks to haul so there is always work some where, if weather allows, right now may be sitting a couple days got snow and sleet falling now, but over all I like it.
