Becoming familiar with sleeper berth spilt rules and better trip planning will make the majority of these problems dissapear. 7 hours into your sleeper berth and time to hit the dock? Take another hour before moving and you got your 8 hour split.

Not everyone fudges/cheats. Some have learned how to make a #### good living while following the hos rules.

That's what the company told me to do. I would get a load and then need an empty so I would use PC to find one.

Ya gotta do what the boss says. Just be aware that the boss is telling you to break hos.

Huh? I see you haven't done much grocery hauling. You hit the dock when they tell you to hit the dock, and than you thank them for giving you the opportunity to deliver their groceries to their dock.

I've done a lot of grocery hauling. Granted not much in the last 7 years or so, but the previous 15 was spent hauling produce/flowers/live fish and meat half the year. Proper trip planning and dont agree to loads that force you to break hos. On the rare occasion that something happens midtrip then you communicate immediately and have your delivery appointment rescheduled. Its really not that hard.

Agreed proper trip planning will eliminate most issues but it's not always that black and white and that "simple". Crap happens and for it to cost a driver potentially $200-500 in wages because he needed to reschedule an appointment from Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon because of an interrupted break is both stupid and a real problem.
