    have you seen new actros have adjustable front grille vents


    for better cooling of engine during summer

    better heating during cold weather and also euro 6 engine try to raise engine temp as fastest as possible to get better emision ....thats why we see some solution with exhaust brake during heatings

    also for better aerodynamics ....

    It will be very interesting to see how DD15 with DPF and heavy EGR use will perform in australian infernal heat.
    i think SCR solution is better for their conditions.

    Volvo trucks got this system in 90-s with D12A. When you release park brake, exaust flap opens

    They still have it. Scania had it already in the 80s, maybe even earlier.

    Adjustiable grille openings was called shutterstats, back from 40 s to early 80 s. So not new!

    Yep, I remember old GAZ-51 and MAZ-200... this system had manual control and it was easy to forget to open it and overheat engine.

    It is funny but shutterstats were used on some classical cars.

    Imo, with air solenoid control shutterstats may be good thing

    Ones I worked on were auto (mid 70 s) . Started out as a vtt675 903 cummins. Then pull att with it. . Ran one temp gauge per side. A lot of confused mustang owers in town!
