Those know nothing jerks who would rather work 3 jobs to support their family instead of milking out un-employment to the bitter end!!
Off with their heads!
Watch out for those hard working, tax paying, ethical, principled .......jerks !!Last edited: Mar 16, 2012

Seriously....3 years? In the richest country in the world? You can't find a job taking home $500 a week? I just can't take any excuse for that serious, sorry.
I would have been working 3 jobs just to get my butt off unemployment. I would have been flippin burgers during the week, digging ditches on the weekend and delivering pizzas at night.
I bet if they made you do community service for your unemployment check, you would have found a job really freakin fast!
If frowning on 3 years of unemployment makes me a jerk, then so be it, I'm a jerk and proud of it. I think we need more jerks in this country then.
I AM glad you are going to start doing something about it NOW though ! Finally!
I wish you the best moving forward, seriously! The unemployment thing is a pet peeve of mine.
I'm not a politically correct poster that just keeps things nice, nice...just because.Last edited: Mar 16, 2012

I, have never been on unemployment, though after my wife got sick and could not work, us losing our house, car, ect, we did go on food stamps for a period. We waited untill our taxes came in last year and I went to school, (after quiting my job that I had for six years, along with the part time jobs) on a wia grant. I started driving a truck to get off food stamps and support my family on one paycheck. my point was not about being on unemployment or not being able to find a job, I was trying to make the point that without knowing a person, their situation and circumstances that making a judgement of their character is the kind of statement that I associate with the kind of person that I would characterize as an a-hole. That being said, I do apoligize for my assault on YOUR character since that puts me in the same catagory as the post I was refering to. I do agree that there are plenty of people that do abuse the program but I prefer to not decide or be judgemental untill I personaly know that person and thier situation. The fact that he went through school and got the cdl leads me to believe that this situation was not of an abusive nature.
I could be wrong, I only have the same information as you, but I will always give anyone the benefit of the doubt untill I see facts that prove otherwise.
just two cents worth,
be safe.
bBoogers Thanks this. -
Hay boogers, cut the guy some slack! Yeah 3 years of UE is a long time and I don't like it either BUT don't forget he came here looking for some advice not a slap down. He has a job now and you could atleast man up and wish him well.
Best of luck Mad Max and be real carefull!! Your running close to 80,000 and you got a few hills down there. Remember, you can go down the hill to slow a hundred times but only once going to fast!Boogers Thanks this. -
Upon re-reading the OP and my responses.....
I reckon I could lighten up a bit. Yesterday was a bad day, perhaps I came on a bit harsh.
Hey OP, my apologies, I'll try to chill a bit and stay off my self righteous soapbox. God knows, I'm far from innocent.
Hope it works out for ya, I sincerely wish you the best moving forward. -
First, I must clarify, it was only 2 years. And I did make an honest attempt at what I thought at the time was a future career in water/waste water management.
I do appreciate the supportive words and at this point am willing to forgive anyone that feels they have maybe misjudged someone and owned up to it.
I too can be judgemental at times and have to remind myself that often I just don't know the situation the other guy may be in. Barring criminal/scumbag behavior, of course.
We need to remember that things have changed in this country. It very much so resembles 1933 times in at least an unemployment aspect.
Make a mistake and you could be done.
Anyways, between family time (which was a positive of having so much "down time" on UE for 2 years) the new job, and getting settled into the new place, I don't have as much time to read on the forums as I'd like, but I have 3 tabs up that I'm hoping to read up on while I have dinner.
That's if my 2 yr old will let me.
God bless&Stay safe -
