I would HIGHLY recomend it. Borrow the money from you parents, take out a loan. Whoar yourself out lol jk :biggrin_2559: But serioulsy your way better off going to a private school or through a CC. Allot more options for you that way....

If you think your broke now, wait till you find out trucking isnt for you and you quit the company that paid for your school and they send you a bill for $10,000 for your training.....

well before you waste your money on your permit as they do expire, you need to figure out how your going to pay for school. Then pick a school, then ask them how they deal with permits and testing.

Both of the schools I went too You got your permit after your first week of class. And both schools had 3rd party testers so you never tested at the DMV for the CDL you just went down there with your paper work and they handed us our CDL.

But it wouldnt hurt to start studying for your Permit though....

I just got off the phone with a driving school here in town and he said you dont need to go apply and get a permit first they issue all the tests at the school then when they think you have driven long enough and you know what your doing in training they let you use their truck to take to the dmv and do the road test it. They said it all one on one individualized work so i can start classes anytime and go to class on what days i am free for however many hours i can. He said depending on how long it takes me to pick it up it can last anywhere from 2-6 weeks. And they charge $1,500

    Good deal or no?

make sure you get at least 180 hours worth of training...What school is this sounds kinda shady 2-6 weeks :biggrin_2556:. but $1500 is a good deal IF its a good school. Remember before you commit you need to call some recruiters for companys your interested in and make sure they hire students from that school. Companies have list of schools they will and will not hire people from.

Yeah he said 2-6 weeks because it is one on one training and some people go everyday and some go once a week so it depends on that and how fast you pick it up. He said he's been around for 15 years and is the biggest school in Fresno, and i found the link for this school off the werner website, not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing though lol

Thanks for the info i actually called up gordon and they wont accept that school, but they gave me the name of one they do accept and central refrigerated accepts them also. I have heard a lot of good things about central so that might work out too, i was also thinking of calling watkins, shepherd tomorrow also to see if they accept that school, how do you like it? and if worse comes to worse swift and covenant accept that school also :) haha
