36cpm is a low wage for a rookie huh? Plus $25 for extra pickups/drops and $50 for tarping. Thats for flatbed
-
You should know what you speak of before lumping us in with others. at prime you pay nothing if you stay a year pay 1/2 if you stay 6 months. Prime celebrates longevity not penalize it. also after the training it is .34 a mile not bad for a rookie. plus with certain bonuses can be .44 pretty easily.
-
you are clueless, you no nothing about our company,
-
Isn't it 39 cpm now for reefer if you're in a LW?
-
38cpm if im not mistaken 33 plus 5cpm for the lw
-
Yeah, its .39. .34+.05 for the LW.
This weeks settlement I also had .031 in fuel bonus. Not bad for a 4800 mile week LOL. I had carry over to make the 4800 miles. But smiling all the way to the bank. Well at least the wife is lolda1 Thanks this. -
Hey there guys, I have been reading a ton on these forums and narrowing down things for me in the way of the company I am hoping to start out with, prime is in my top 5 so thought I would pose so questions for those of you who really know. I am looking to go the skateboard route btw. I appreciate your responses in advance.
1) Is prime ok with us tattoo'd people in the world?
2) How workable are they with splitting your hometime between two locations?
3) Amount of hometime in reality?
4) Can you give me some info on the benefits, avg cost for family, and if they are worth the cost or do they suck?
5) Vacation time and is it like pulling teeth or not when it comes up?
6) Primary operating area(s). (such as am I looking at spending alot of time in NY/NY or Chitown or ? )
7) Real world median mileage figures. (I know most co's say 2500+ per week - but really?)
Again, thank you for your time and stay safe out there!

Yes.
Not a problem, but it does depend on the availability of freight to get you in and out of the locations.
1 day earned every week out, 4 days max every 3 weeks. Doesn't exclude the possibility of stopping by the house with a load if you're going through the area.
Medical is BCBS of Missouri, with limited dental and vision benefits. Best ask the recruiters for details on cost. IMO it's adequate - certainly not a gold-plated package.
No teeth removed with visegrips! It always worked well with me when I was on the company side. You just need to work with your FM on vacation or hometime. It's more difficult for them to get you somewhere on a given day rather than working with a range of days, so flexibility in your plans helps immensly.
Best answered by one of the flatbed guys.
That plus change was my average on the reefer side for the three years I drove as a company driver - depending of course on the state of the economy. I felt they did a better job keeping us running during the great economic temper tantrum in '08 and '09 than did many other carriers.
Yup, good luck on your decision!31hz Thanks this. -
Flatbed runs all 48. We have a few places in Indiana you can pick up/drop. Ive only been to NYC once, but know of others whove gone more. Chicago
We have our worst shipper... Allied Tube. Im making good money, no complaints. (Except my truck will be taken back in March of 2013
)
31hz Thanks this.
