Hi everybody. I got my CDL last year and have been driving locally for a few months at the same place I have been working for the last few years. It's a big company and I want to keep the details light for now since I am not sure if they patrol this website. Is there a private message board or irc channel or something?

I have visited the reddit discord but its kind of on the goofy side and not good for long form writing. I have some mixed feelings about the company and my history there, but all in all I am happy with my history there the opportunities I have had.

I plan on driving here for the forseeable future but I am interested in learning more about other specialties and career paths here. I tried to get into heavy equipment operation in the past so that might be something to get into. Recently got my hazmat certification which is more or less required and have considered looking into petroleum/tankers when the time is right.

I'm located in the Northeast outside a major metropolitan area and work with a few solid guy whos have been supportive and helpful teaching me things. I hope to learn more and get some feedback on other specifics here from real professionals. There's a lot of good threads on here and I like reading about all the different aspects of the industry.

    Cheers!

Lite bug and Kyle G. Thank this.

1st, welcome aboard, you came to the right place, and for peace of mind( yours), non-trucking people haven't a clue about TTR, it's our little secret, so I think you're okay. We have a member here that will go ape schmit with prospective places to drive. If you have been with a company for a spell, and now drive for them, sounds like a deal most here would love to get into. You can chase round and round, and in the end, not do any better. Believe me, we've all tried. With different trucking jobs, comes different situations, like it or not, at a new company, you'll start at the bottom, something you may or may not be used to. Being one of the "real professionals" here,,,( cough), I say stay put.
