Howdy Howdy
Just wanted to take a minute to say hello. My name is David and I am in Stillwater Oklahoma. I am grateful to have found this forum as their is a wealth of information here that has proved to be very helpful to me and looks like a whole lot of other drivers.
I am currently in the process of trying to get out on the road. Would like to drive expedite for someone to start with. Currently I do not have a CDL but will get it in the near future. May end up going to a CDL mill unfortunately unless a better solution come along. Hoping to find someone that can use a Co-Driver. I have basically lived a trucker life on and off all of my life so I am not exactly green about things however things have changed over the years but here on the fourm I am getting caught up on what has changed.
Hope your day is great and miles are many!

Hello and Welcome
For training,I would suggest your local Community/Technical colleges and their truck driving programs.Funding is available, if you qualify, through the WIA program. Best of Luck!!
Baack, simplyred1962 and thefather Thank this. -
Sorry to say there is no local or community college here that offers any CDL classes. Already looked into that.
Also looked into the WIA program and found out that yes I qualify but they are out of funds. Was told to contact them in July.
So that only leaves 2 options
1) Go to DS/C1, CRST, etc... and get hooked into a contract
or
2) Find a mentor that is willing to work with me.

If you have time, don't limit yourself just yet. There are at least 150 carriers in OK with 50+ power units. That's just OK, not to mention the carriers with freight lanes through OK.
I'm not making a recommendation here, just a suggestion....have you called John Christner Trucking?kickin chicken, Baack and thefather Thank this.
