Make a list and prepare for the move when the time is right.
Here's some to consider that pay well and won't take a toll on the body:
    Estes Express - line haul
Holland - line haul - free health insurance
Southeastern Freight Lines - line haul
    Superior-Carriers
    Martin Transport Inc.
    Carry Transit
    Quality Carriers

I can think of McKesson, he touches only the landing gear handle in Memphis most loads.

Remember that that body will wear out on you given enough time in that particular work. Plan for it. Don't think you will make it to 60 in that kind of work. It will wear you down as it does most people relatively quickly, so by the time you hit 40, you are going to be feeling it.

On the other hand if you eat hearty and stay hydrated, you will remain fit.

I was a powerlifter for years so I’m no stranger to the gym and eating healthy. I generally stick to unprocessed foods. Lots of egg whites, chicken, oats, steaks and salads.

I was in Memphis a couple weeks ago off Park Ave. Man those are small roads. Then I had to swing the trailer around to my right, around a corner to a tiny dock that wasn't lined up with the yellow guarder poles. That was fun.

Carry you two guns when you come here. These fools are robbing people stopped at red lights. Don’t expect the police to be much help either.

It wasn't an area putting off the best vibes. I often pick up in areas that are poor being that poor areas donate the most blood, because they get paid to do so. Keep in mind, I haven't picked up anywhere in California yet. I do deliver food to Los Angeles sometimes, but I drop in a warehouse area then leave. Memphis, St Louis, Baton Rogue, Durham, maybe Charlotte, and Indianapolis were the areas that I didn't want to venture too far from my truck when I drove into the inner city areas and stayed for the night. Chicago and Detroit never really gave me that feeling in my gut that I shouldn't walk too far. The border towns on the Mexican border have been nothing but peaceful for me so far. Not saying those cities are safe, just my personal experience and gut feelings. Jersey City stunk and didn't look too desirable, but I only drove through there, didn't have to stay.

Hey Big8John. What company do you work for? How is the pay and benefits? I wouldn't mind living in either Tennessee or Kentucky. Beautiful country.
