ALMOST had a violation today for my PITA 30 minute break. Had to pull off the exit ramp to change my status then limp into the truckstop...

I have done that once or twice I forget about it till its almost to late

Well, since I was on vacation last week, this is my first week dealing with the new HOS. So far not too bad except I will second what Seawheeler said about being able to see your other clocks while driving...would be helpful when planning "on the fly"

This sure is amusing listening to people cry about the 30 min law. You're chocking on your electronic tracking devices now aren't you? lmfao!
YOU PEOPLE made your bed. Now lay in it! -
im just coming back but we have been under the new hours for a couple of weeks now. Haven't needed a reset just run of ur recap. The 30 minute break you probably always took never logged it though and it does actually stop the 14 so its kind of nice, park the truck and walk a lap around the parking lot. I do otr truckload so i guess are scheduling can be a little more relaxed and big enough to run swaps when we need them, but so far miles have not dropped and i also like the idea of too overnights for the 34 but they should just make it 48. Anyhow i would not sweat it the let the companies figure it out and they will like always. And yes most drivers take 30 minutes in the fuel island so just join them and will be backed up too the highway to get fuel going to be fun.....

This might be the dumbest statement I've ever seen here.
I'm quite sure that no one on these boards had anything to do with the E-Logs. And you're gonna be right there along with us pretty soon, they're preparing to make them a requirement for all trucks. So if I were you I wouldn't be so condescending.
I will say this much... by the tone of your statement, I'm gathering that you'd just falsify your logs if you didn't stop for the break. Well, here's a news flash for you: It's Deleted like you that continue to cause every one of these new regulations. It's not us... we're on E-Logs, so no violating those. But you Deleted that falsify your logs and break the law are the direct cause of the FMCSA continuously revising our HOS, limiting more of our driving time each time.
So, to be accurate, we're lying in the bed that you made for us... and it's gonna be a hilarious day when you're forced to lie right there with us. Don't kid yourself, you'll be on an e-log very soon, unless you plan to quit altogether. And if you regularly break the law, I'm perfectly fine with you getting the hell off the road.Last edited by a moderator: Jul 10, 2013
jxu417 and Rigbuilder Thank this. -
Try to have the discussion without the name-calling, insults and personal attacks, please. Thanks.
plentygood Thanks this. -
I wouldn't let this guy bother anyone. He's a troll. Go look at his precious posts. He spends his time trolling and trying to piss people off. I bet you he's not even a driver. Sounds like a wannabe to me.

the 30 minute break doesn't stop your 14 it stops your 11 hours of driving
poor trip planning is the only reason to stop on an on ramp and limp into the TS
I am not a troll or a poor trip planner -
I think he is very funny myself. He should try sarcastic stand-up comedy. His complete reversal of the truth and facts would make him an instant next- Ron White. And myself, I love Ron White's stuff. Says one thing but really means the exact opposite, in extreme sarcasm. I'd pay (a very little) of my LEGALLY AND HARD-EARNED money to go laugh openly at his shows.Rigbuilder and andrewrhyne1986 Thank this.
