This whole problem will be solved when the amnesty bill is passed and the government has 20 million new drivers willing to take free training and then take your job.

C'mon guys. You can complain about it or be smart and adjust your driving. The only thing those new rules will affect is the 10am Monday delivery.
Unfortunately, dispatch is the one that will need to adjust the most and I don't know if they are ready for it ?

    jxu417 Thanks this.

He was late if he did it in 2009.

I was still driving my old truck and working at the old company when this first came about. It made me think twice about buying a new truck. This was in 2007.

There was talk about changing the hours back to the time with no reset, but retaining the current driving hours.

That was in the courts back then . The failed attempt in courts called for an alternative action .

Was not in the courts that I was talking about.

I was in the office, might have been as late as early 2008, when this was an issue they were planning. I asked the company what they would do, and their plan like all others was hire more drivers.

I know that they have been wanting to rid the 34 since the inception. You have mentioned the major group, PATT, that wants it gone. It has been a long process, and shall be even more now.

I cannot wait to deal with the DOT on this. Under the old law, I was home one weekend just about 15 hours. Got stopped in West Virginia or Virginia on 64. The officer said I had not been home long enough. I told him I had been off more than the 8 hours required.

Well, could you provide the government published document that show this 86% number ?
Because as of today , trucks are still speeding , tailgating , changing lane the "Nascar Way" around those 4 wheelers ?
The car might be the one that technically created the accident but the trucks were involved probably because of their unsafe agressive driving.
