Just heard rumor that the government is doing away with the def/dpf a in January 2019. Can anyone confirm this? I’ve looked and can’t find anything about it.

I’ve been hearing that for four years. It’s just a rumour.

Might see EGR go bye bye but I don't think you're gonna see exhaust aftertreatment go anywhere in the near future.

You can get Tesla electric truck no emission. It just made a cross country trip to JB Hunt and some other pre ordered customers. Just using the Tesla regular charging locations.

They tried that with the maxxforce. If it runs and meets emissions then great, it's not required, but emissions standards are only going to get tighter.

It is as true as the IRS will no longer require truckers to pay taxes.

What diesel mopeds have you seen? The only diesel motorcycle I can remember is the army's dirt bike.

Honestly we have to ask ourselves why is really needed?

It isn't because of the environment.

We need the soot in the air to counter climate change.

I think our EPA wants to be like the EU, controlling emissions of everything, even though we never had the problems with diesel emissions that Europe has. If it was up to the EPA, they would have cow fart collectors on cows to capture methane.
